Friday (1/10) Seminar Speaker – Living Well in Community

Dr. Christine Colón is Professor of English at Wheaton College. She received her BA from Biola University, her MA from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and her Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis. In her life as an English professor, she researches Christian women writers and has published Joanna Baillie and the Art of Moral Influence (Peter Lang 2009) and Writing for the Masses: Dorothy L. Sayers and Victorian Literary Tradition (Routledge 2018).

Beyond her academic life, her experiences as a single woman in the evangelical church compelled her to write Singled Out: Why Celibacy Must Be Reinvented in Today’s Church (Brazos 2009, with Bonnie E. Field), and more recently, she has published Choosing Community: Action, Faith, and Joy in the Works of Dorothy L. Sayers (IVP 2019): a work designed to introduce Christian audiences to the scope of Sayers’ work, particularly her profound insights on Christian community. She is a member of Wellspring Alliance Church where she and her husband, Bob Locascio, teach Sunday School.
