Will I get an email confirmation that I’ve registered?
Yes, shortly after you register, you should receive an email confirmation. If you did not receive an email confirmation (and have already checked your junk mail folder), contact us immediately.
Can I attend OIL without pre-registering?
We highly discourage walk-ins. We will not send you back home, but walk-in registration takes much longer, you may not get an official OIL booklet or nametag, and there is a good chance you won’t get your first seminar choice. The walk-in rates are $220 for overnight attendees, $200 for Thursday overnight attendees, and $180 for commuter attendees. Your best bet is to contact us before you come to OIL.
I’m a working professional and can only take Friday off. Can I come to OIL late?
Yes! We welcome you to come to OIL after work on Thursday. We have a registration type called “Thursday Overnight” just for you. This rate includes conference attendance, 2 nights hotel, and meals starting with breakfast on Friday.
Can I come for evening worship only?
Yes, please join us! In order to offset overhead costs, we are recommending a donation of $25. This donation can be made in-person when you arrive on-site.
Do you have discounts/scholarships?
As much as we would like to help, unfortunately we don’t have the resources to be able to provide discounts or scholarships.
What is the age range?
You must be at least a college freshman to attend OIL. The conference draws mostly college students and young adults in their 20s and 30s, but anyone over the minimum age is welcome to attend.
My spouse and I are both attending OIL. Can we be assigned a room together?
For married couples who would like to be assigned to a room together, this can be requested at an additional charge of $100 to cover the cost of the room for all 3 nights. If you are interested in this, when the first spouse registers, they should check the “shared room” box and pay the extra $100. A unique code will then be issued and the other spouse should also click “shared room” and enter this code during registration so that we can ensure you are roomed together and you will not be charged twice. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com.
If I signed up, but for some reason I cannot attend the conference, can someone else take my spot?
No, sorry, someone else cannot take your spot and use your deposit. If you can’t make the conference, please let us know ASAP (to open up space for prospective registrants), no later than midnight CST on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, and we’ll refund your payment (except for the $40 non-refundable deposit).
I can’t attend. Can I get a refund?
Please contact us before midnight CST on December 29, 2015 to cancel. Space is limited and we’d like to give as many people the chance to attend as possible. When you tell us you’re canceling, we’ll refund your payment, except for the $40 non-refundable deposit.
Why is there a non-refundable deposit?
If someone cancels we have to pay two sets of processing fees (on the original registration and on the refund) to the credit card company. The deposit is to cover the processing fee for the refund, not for the original registration.
Can I change my registration information (e.g. address, email, seminar choice, etc.)?
Yes, Please click HERE. You will need to log in to your account and edit the necessary information. There will be no changes after December 29, 2015.
HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION DURING OIL
Will I be staying in a Wheaton College dorm room?
The Wheaton College dorms are occupied by current Wheaton students, so OIL overnight attendees will be staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites. The hotel is about 15 minutes from Wheaton College at 150 South Gary Avenue in Carol Stream, IL 60188. OIL has blocked standard rooms with 2 double beds, wireless internet, bedding, towels, mini-refrigerator, and coffee maker.
How is housing arranged?
Rooms will be assigned same gender, generally 4 attendees to a standard 2 queen-bed room. Each attendee will be given a room key. You will likely be rooming with other attendees around the same school year/age, who may be in your small group.
Will OIL provide transportation between the hotel and Wheaton College?
There will be a shuttle service (passenger vans) after evening worship and before morning worship during OIL. We will also run the shuttle during registration and free time. If you need shuttle service during OIL, please note it when asked during registration.
Can I drive my personal car during OIL?
Yes, feel free to drive your own car between Wheaton College and the Holiday Inn. If you will be driving, we encourage you to take other attendees as passengers and get to know each other during the drive. This will help with transporting people between the 2 sites.
Where can I park?
There is free parking at Wheaton College and the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Carol Stream. At Wheaton College, we recommend parking at the Billy Graham Center at 500 College Avenue in Wheaton and then walk to the Todd Beamer Student Center. Please obey all Wheaton College parking regulations and signage.
What time do I need to get to OIL by on Wednesday, January 6?
Check-in officially begins at 1pm at the lobby outside Coray Auditorium in the Todd Beamer Student Center at Wheaton College. It is quite unpredictable to determine when check-in lines will be at their shortest. A good rule of thumb would be to arrive at least a few hours before the opening worship service, which is at 4 PM. If you come early and are an overnight attendee, you can register and either drive or take the shuttle to the hotel to drop off your belongings and then have some time to rest or pray until the opening worship.
When are the first and last meals served?
Lunch and dinner will be served at the Wheaton College and breakfast will be served at the Holiday Inn. The first meal will be dinner on Wednesday, January 6 served at Wheaton College. For overnight attendees, the last meal will be breakfast on Saturday, January 9 at the Holiday Inn. For commuters, the last meal will be dinner on Friday, January 8 served at Wheaton College.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?
