Calling Oriented Life, Rev. John Chong
When asked about their calling, what comes to mind for many people are different occupations, such as a teacher, engineer, missionary or another vocation. Even though our job is a part of God's calling upon our lives, it is far from the complete picture of what a calling-oriented life is. We are also called to faithfully serve our families and our local church. So many voices tell us what to do, how do we make the right choices? And often the path of faithfulness is so difficult that many want to abandon it. But how do we stay the course? This seminar will give us a comprehensively look at our calling as defined by Scripture and how to be faithful to God in our callings to the end.
Expanding Eden: Developing a Biblical Theology of Mission, Dr. Mitch Kim
What are we created for? We are to be images of God who are to expand His dwelling place and fill the earth with His glory (Gen 1:26–28). In this seminar, we will explore how Eden is the first temple and dwelling place of God, which God intended to expand to fill the whole earth. Our heart's longing for satisfaction, purpose and community are found in His presence. The call to expand Eden to fill the earth is finally fulfilled in Revelation 21–22, where the new heavens and new earth are the new Jerusalem and dwelling place of God (Rev 21:1–3). In this seminar, we explore this call as a framework for a biblical theology of mission. This seminar is an abbreviation of a book co-authored by Dr. Mitch Kim, which is to be published by InterVarsity Press (IVP).
Heart Motives, Dr. Sang Caleb Kim
"All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD" (Proverbs 16:2). What makes us get angry, frustrated, or depressed? Why are we drawn to certain people but can't seem to "click" with others? Why do some memories linger for years when others are forgotten in a moment? The revolutionary heart motive system will address these questions and help us get to the root of our thoughts and actions.
Note: Due to the extensive content of the lecture, the heart motives seminar is for both sessions on Thursday (AM and PM). You must sign up for both lectures if you want to participate in this seminar.

International Relief and Development, Thomas Kim
A few minutes watching the world news is all it takes to convince us of one thing – that our world is plagued with crises. As followers of Christ, what, if anything, are we to do with the news? What is the importance of the local church in the fight against pain and poverty, and what kind of role should it play? Even more personally, what kind of role can you play? Whether you’re considering missions as a front-lines worker or as a supporter, this seminar will take you into the world of international relief and development as a vehicle for gospel ministry. Thomas will share about his personal journey helping churches in Haiti during the post-earthquake recovery.
Journey into Leadership, Dr. Steve Lee
Historically, it took 10 years of training to become a sushi chef—years of menial labor and observation before the apprentice was given the opportunity to cut into his first fish. When it comes to training spiritual leaders, we tend to place great emphasis on a person’s professional credentials, abilities, and giftedness. But God’s perspective on leadership development is quite different. In this seminar, we will explore the journey of the apprentice whom God is raising into spiritual leadership. The lessons will not only be applicable to those headed into “full-time ministry,” but also to anyone who desires to be used by God for his kingdom work.
Note: Due to the extensive content of the lecture, the leadership seminar is for both sessions on Thursday (AM and PM). You must sign up for both lectures if you want to participate in this seminar.
Small Group Leadership, Pastor KJ Kim
In an attempt to give people a place to get into each other's lives and shepherd one another, the small group system is an invaluable component of many churches and fellowships. Maybe you've even been asked to lead one or are leading one. Have you ever thought, "What is a healthy small group?", "How can I better lead and shepherd my group?", or "How can I better foster a sense of community in my small group?" Pastor KJ Kim will discuss essential elements to having Christ-centered and God-honoring small groups.
The Present Benefits of the Grace of Christ (Col 2:1-15), Dr. Paul Tripp
People tend to have a gap in the middle of the Gospel. We tend to understand salvation past - the forgiveness we’ve been given in Christ—and we tend to understand salvation future - the eternity that we will have with Christ - but we are often confused about the present benefits of the work of Christ in the here and now. The Gospel calls us to believe not only in life after death, but in life before death - a quality of existence that will not be possible apart from the present transforming grace of Christ. When you understand the nowism of the Gospel, it radically changes the way you approach the normal situations and relationships of your daily life

Confessions of a Christian Doctor, Dr. Sang Caleb Kim
Drawing from his experiences working as a lecturer, physician, and father, etc., Dr. Sang Caleb Kim will first lay out a theological framework for thinking about the work - family - church dynamic and how to practically live it out in our lives. This seminar will encourage us to appreciate and be challenged by the way the Gospel transforms us as workers and how this informs our worldview as we head into work on Monday mornings.
Discipleship: Reaching Millions through Multiplication, Dr. Mitch Kim
If a gifted preacher had open air meetings around the world where a thousand people came to Christ every day, it would take 1,640 years to reach the world. If one person led three people to Christ and trained each of them to reach three more people, and this process was repeated each year, then it would take only 21 years to reach every person on the planet. The key to reach millions is through multiplication and not just addition. We must not only lead people to Christ but train them to lead others to Christ. In this seminar, we will look at Jesus' strategy of ministry as a model for our own ministries, as he focused on the few to reach the many. We will also draw from John Wesley’s ministry to see how these principles are utilized and draw practical implications for how a ministry of discipleship can be developed in churches and college campuses today.
Evangelism: Lessons from Jesus and the Social Networks, Rev. Yun Choi
Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, etc. What are some lessons we learn about evangelism from these different social network outlets? When you think about the word evangelism what comes to your mind? Cold witnessing at the mall or train station or the student union? Evangelist Billy Graham? The unfortunate thing is that evangelism is often looked at as something the Christian is obligated to do rather than the natural overflow of a believer's life. In this seminar, we'll look into Jesus' life on Earth and the high value of evangelism He placed in His life. We will also look at some lessons about evangelism through social networking.
Knowing God’s Will, Rev. Paul Chi
Children are often asked this question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Over the years, this question can develop into quite a confusing dilemma. As we approach our young adult years, we are filled with questions like, "What career path should I follow?" "Who should I marry?" "Where should I live?" Do I have any real choices in my life or is it all just destiny?" In this seminar, Pastor Paul will offer both a biblical and a practical perspective on this important topic of knowing God's will.
Missions: Redeeming the Tower of Babel "SIN"drome, Rev. P. O.
The need for missions started at the Tower of Babel when numerous languages and cultures were formed because of the people’s pride and independence from God. The very necessity and reasons for missions remains the same today. But in this seminar, we will examine why people continue to find it hard to be involved in missions and how being a part of God’s work doesn’t mean just going overseas. People are using unique avenues to be involved in missions throughout the world. In this seminar, find out how God can use you in different ways as well to reach the lost and “make disciples of all nations.”
Pursuing a Professional Career for Christ, Thomas Kim
The average person will spend a hundred thousand hours throughout the course of their lives WORKING. It’s the largest time investment that we will make in our lives, yet, it often seems so disconnected from our relationship with Jesus. How do I passionately pursue a career for Christ? What does it mean to be a faithful layworker? Thomas Kim will share lessons and ongoing challenges from corporate business experience.
Social Justice, Pastor Rich Kohng
Social justice is often seen as a humanitarian or political endeavor. In this seminar, however, we'll unpack the theological basis of justice and analyze the gospel as its motivation. With this framework in mind, we'll also explore several practical avenues through which believers can engage in gospel-shaped social justice including advocacy and community organizing.
The Church, Rev. Jung Lee
There is no organization on earth that compares with the beauty and power of the Church. When the local church is working right, its potential for good is limitless. What is the Church? Why should I go to church? Why should I be committed to my church? What should I look for in a church? We will discover God purpose for the church in the world, in our local communities and in our own lives.
Understanding the God of the Old Testament, Dr. Jon Choi
Why does the Bible say in Gen. 6:6, "The LORD was grieved that He had made man on the earth"? Also, why does God appear to be harsh and angry in the Old Testament? Is He different from the God of the New Testament who appears to be gracious and forgiving? In fact, a 2nd Century heretical group called the Marcionites rejected the harsh God of the Old Testament while accepting the "loving" God of the New Testament
